Comments from DSaroyan (WMF)[edit]

Hello DonKevin, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund application! We are glad to learn that you are planning another Wikidata training. I have a few comments about your grant application:

  • This is the third similar project that you will carry out in your community. When looking at your budget from the past events, I can observe that the requested budget has been significantly increased for a single in-person meeting. That’s why we won’t fund this project for more than 1,900 USD. There are a few expenses that I think you can reduce: Food and drinks, Participant packs, Branded nose mask, Branded Shirt for organizers and top participants, Post-event internet subscription on participants devices, Souvenirs and gift prize for top 5 contributors. Please reduce the requested total budget to 1,900 USD maximum.
  • I would also like to understand why you request to make new branded T-shirts for organizers, while you have similar T-shirts from recent projects and also from the projects when you were/are a team member. These projects are all Wikidata related and I think you may be able to reuse the T-shirts sometimes. Could you please explain this?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:23, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), Thanks for the review and comments. Please find my response below:

  • I was thinking of a move away from the usual white-colored branded shirt and make it a black-colored branded-shirt this time around to aid promotion and better awareness and a breathe of new life to the event. But I have removed it in other to meet the required USD 1,900.--DonKevin (talk) 14:52, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
