Accepted[edit]

Hi, Tuanminh01, thank you for submitting this report and expense documentation. Congratulations on having a successful contest with a lot of new and valuable articles on Vietnamese Wikipedia! I have the following questions and comments:

  • In your Grant Proposal the target outcome for number of participants is 25, while in the report this number is 30. Could you please edit this grant report updating it with the initial number from the Grant Proposal? Additionally, why did you mention that this target had not been achieved when you had at least 25 participants each month?
  • You mentioned that you had given eight different prizes to the best editors. Would you please share with us what kind of prizes have you given? Also, how many prizes did you give to the winners every month?
  • One of your learnings from this project was to broaden the topic of editing in the future campaigns. Why do you think that having a broader topic will ensure more engagement and better outcomes?

Thank you again for organizing contest and for your contributions to the Wikimedia projects! I have accepted your final report and expense documentation. This grant is now complete. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:35, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Answers[edit]

@DSaroyan (WMF):

  • Thank you for reminding me, I was wrong about the number of participants. 30 is the wrong number, but it stuck with me. I have changed the report accordingly
  • Prizes are telephone cards, so I have to buy them, scratch them, and give the numbers to the best editors. We use that kind of prizes so no identity of users are exposed. I give them every month of contest.
  • The current topic (African/South American women) is about to be depleted (we have translated them for almost a year), so if I do not change or broaden the topic, there will not be many articles that meet the criteria to translate. So we must broaden the topic to include European and North American women, or expand it to African people (men included).
  • By continue to do contest months we think that some editors will grow with each contest, their ability to translate will be better each month, and hopefully they will continue to stay with Wikipedia as a way to sharpen their translating ability.

Thank you and best regards, Tuanminh01 (talk) 09:48, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
