Accepted[edit]

Hello Mehman97, we have reviewed and accepted both your final report and expense documentation. Please note there are some comments and questions below regarding your final report.

  • It was great to see that you attracted more participants than expected. What do you think helped you exceed this goal?
  • Despite having more participants than expected, you fell short of uploading the number of photos you had hoped for. You mentioned that this was due to not being able to interest many new participants. In addition to attracting new participants, what do you think you could do to make the contest exciting and engaging for repeat participants?
  • Holding the contest every other year could be a good way to build excitement about it, and we look forward to hearing about how that tactic works. What other tactics have you thought of to generate excitement and increased participation in the years in which you hold it?

We look forward to reading your responses to these questions and reflections! Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into this grant and the report. This grant is now complete. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 22:34, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WJifar (WMF), thanks for your feedback. I will try to answer your questions:
  • It's wonderful that we were able to achieve our goal. I think in this matter we were helped by social networks, despite the fact that we just wrote a post on social networks (Facebook, Instagram $ Twitter), and didn't advertise the contest there.
  • Unfortunately, we didn't achieve this goal for various reasons. Among these reasons is that the contest time is not convenient, since it's June and many people at this time finish annual work on their affairs and are busy with it. Also, many people are not adapted to the Wiki-space, and this is a barrier for them, despite the fact that we are trying to help them as much as possible and, most importantly, there are very few volunteers who are willing to donate their photos under a free license in Georgia. The regular participants of this contest are themselves interested in participating and participate actively every year, and we always warn them with a letter about the start of the contest.
  • Other tactics for attracting more participants to the contest, there will be active advertising of the contest on social networks, since there is a large audience of potential participants, as well as wiki-expeditions for those wishing to take part in the contest and training for them how to upload photos to Commons.

Thank you for the work done and for your support. Kindly, --Mehman 97 20:41, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
