Report accepted[edit]

Hello GoEThe, thanks for submitting this final report. I appreciate the efforts you’ve put into organizing this Wiki Conference, and I’m glad to see that you have been able to gather so many experienced editors and open knowledge enthusiasts. I have reviewed the report and have the following questions and comments:

  • You mentioned that you invited important speakers and had a really successful program. Could you please link the conference program in the report page, so we can learn more about the speakers, sessions, and overall program?
  • Given that one of the initial goals for the conference was capacity building of editors, how did you make sure that this goal was eventually met?
  • In the proposal you noted that you would conduct a post-event survey. Have you conducted it? Could you share some of the highlights from the results?
  • Thanks for returning the remaining funds! We have successfully confirmed the refund.

Please extend my gratitude to all the organizers! Thank you for your contributions to the Wikimedia Movement of Portugal. The final report and expense documents have been reviewed and accepted, this grant is now complete! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:28, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello DSaroyan, thanks for accepting the report and confirming that the remaining funds were successful received back at WMF. In regard to capacity building, we have kept in contact with most attendees through our Telegram group [1] and have seen what editors have been up to. For example, some of the participants that attended the meeting have revitalized the Women in Red project at pt.wikipedia, and have used WikiData queries to build lists of missing articles [2]. As another example, Asaf Bartov's presentation at the meeting prompted me to reach out to the mw:ORES team and build article and draft quality models at pt.wikipedia.[3],[4]. We have also been discussing a lot of projects following up directly from discussions that happened at WCPortugal, such as wmpt:Projeto Geo Freguesias de Portugal, wmpt:Onde moram as ruas das mulheres and wmpt:Projeto Nenhuma freguesia sem fotografia.
Regarding the post event survey, unfortunately we did not manage to get one out. We did ask people to leave a comment on WikiCon Portugal/Comentários. GoEThe (talk) 14:57, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and I added a link to the program in the report. [5] GoEThe (talk) 15:05, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
