Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Wiki Ayiti Bel Nègès

Comments from WMF[edit]

Hi Rency Inson Michel, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We are glad to see that Wikimedia Community User Group Haïti applies for Wikimedia Foundation Grants. I have reviewed your proposal and have a few questions that I'd like to address:

  • Could you bring some examples of the objects and monuments you plan to photograph?
  • Will you announce an open call for participants or you have already selected those who’ll take part in the photowalk?
  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the Wikimedia community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wikis? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • In the budget, could you provide a more detailed breakdown for Internet and Transportation expenses?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:57, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) Thanks for this feedback.

  • Here are examples of subjects we plan to photograph ː

1. Historical heritage: Fort Ogé, colonial style houses 2. Emblematic monuments: the City Hall, Alexandra Manor (1915), the Iron Market (1895), Santiago Cathedral (1859), Bolivar Square (1816) in memory of Bolivar's stay in Haiti during the liberation of Spanish America. 3. Tourist Attractions: Blue Basin, Raymond-les-bains, Cyvadier, Chute l'Etang, the sea embroidery of Jacmel. 4. Cultural objects: crafts, painting

  • A team of 7 people has already been selected for these photographic hunts. We meet two guides from Jacmel to accompany us during the hunts.
  • For details in the budget ː

1. Transportation : - Fuel (round trip: Port-au-Prince - Jacmel - Port-au-Prince ) and circulation within Jacmel: $150 - Transmission oil + engine oil: $100 - Motorcycle cabs (for places inaccessible to our vehicle): $50

2. Internet : - Internet wifi modem: $70 - Internet plan (12 Mbps): $130 This plan will be valid for three months

Hello Rency Inson Michel, thank you for your response. The community notification should be done in a community page and not in your discussion page. So please post it in a page where the members of your community can see it. For example, the talk page of Community Wikimedia User Group Haïti on Meta may be a good page for notifying the community. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:58, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) I added the announcement on the talk pages of Community Wikimedia User Group Haïti ː https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Community_Wikimedia_User_Group_Ha%C3%AFti#Wikip%C3%A9dia_20_:_Chasse_photographique_%C3%A0_Jacmel_(Ha%C3%AFti)
