Moved to draft[edit]

Hello Wikimedia Nigeria, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request! While your project seems really interesting and the submitted proposal is well thought out and comprehensive, I had to move it to draft status because the intended budget is currently ineligible for funding in terms of the Rapid Grants.

Almost all budget items are compensation for people’s time and therefore not eligible for funding per Rapid Grant eligibility guidelines. As you can see in this page, there are only a limited number of cases when we fund compensation for grantees or others. Please feel free to resubmit this request after modifying the grant and budget and making it eligible in terms of the Rapid Grants, or apply for other WMF grants where compensation of time is acceptable. We wish to thank you for the review and communication on the grant application: Visibility Project. We sincerely apologies for our inability to review Rapid Grant's funding guidelines before the submission of the grant application. However, since the grant application can not fund the time spent by the project resource personnel, we, therefore, suggest paying for the internet services and phone call charges to be incurred by the volunteers to discharge their responsibilities. We also introduced gift items to motivate the volunteered mentors for the time to be invested in mentoring the mentees. We will be glad if you could consider this change in the proposal . Request for extension[edit]

Dear DSaroyan (WMF)

We experienced a delay at the start date of the project earlier stated in the grant application. The partner informed us that the project's new start date is 1 October 2020. What do you advise us? Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 10:37, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikimedia Nigeria, thanks for your question. I suggest requesting an extension for the project end date. When do you think you will complete the project if you launch it on October 1, 2020? Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear DSaroyan (WMF), Thank you for your reply, in line with the above discussions, we, therefore, request for an extension to the project starting from 1-31 October 2020. Thank you Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 14:23, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Wikimedia Nigeria, thanks for your request. I am approving it and offering you an extension until October 31, 2020. As the updated grant end date is on October 31, 2020, you are required to submit the final report and expense documents until November 30, 2020. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:25, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear DSaroyan (WMF). Thank you for your action Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 15:11, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear DSaroyan (WMF), we are writing to request for an extension of this project for another one month. This project interfaces with more than three international partners, so, we are battling with a lot of bureaucracy. We finally kicked start the project on the 12th of November 2020, and it will be concluded on the 6th of December 2020. We apologies for this change too many. Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 06:07, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Wikimedia Nigeria, thanks for posting your request — I approved it. The new grant end date is 6 December 2020, with the reporting due date on 6 January 2021. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:05, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DSaroyan (WMF) our apologies for this late information. If you checked the link here, you could notice that we have completed the qualitative aspect of this project, but we are yet to finalize the disbursement of gift/fund for the international mentors for the project. This is because our NGO needed to perfect some statutory documentation before this aspect of the project could be done. We sincerely hope to finalize this documentation by next week and then make the disbursement asap. So, I would like to know if we will need to request additional days to sort our this task?
