@Olaniyan Olushola: I've reviewed your report on this training session in partnership with the African Wikimedia Developers Team. Here are my comments:

  • While it is good to see interest from developers based on attendance and people signing up for the mailing list, the report doesn't provide a lot of detail about what happened at these training sessions. The grant proposal notes that one focus of these training sessions was to focus on capacity building and to create awareness around development and technical work in Wikimedia projects. How was that accomplished in these training sessions? What sort of topics were covered, and what materials were used? You can describe these here on the discussion page or add more detail to the grant report.

  • You wrote that "We took the event to the location of our target audience" as something that worked well in this project. Where was this event held, and would you consider using it again for future events?
Being a specialized event involving coding, we were careful in the choice of the participants that will attend the event. We therefore, decided to host the event in a university campus where we could work with students with background in coding .
  • When you note that 15 developers have shown "positive signs of continuing with coding", what are these signs? What specific places are these developers continuing to work in?
All activities were done via pharbricator. The 15 developers are the group of participants that have shown continuity in participation after the event before the commencement of school examination
  • Thank you for providing an explanation for the difference in cost related to accommodations-- these circumstances of having to stay late for an event are understandable.

When you're able, please respond to the questions above. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 18:45, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
