Comments from I JethroBT (WMF)[edit]

Hello Thanough, and thanks for your proposal for Wiki Loves Africa in Switzerland and the Cameroon, aligned with the Nos Jardins initiative. Here are my comments and questions:

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and provide an opportunity for community feedback in advance, before a funding decision is made. From your proposal, you've mentioned several places where you've informed communities about the proposal-- could you provide a direct link to these messages or communications?
    • All our communication activities are documented here including activities in Switzerland, Cameroun and internationally.
  • Thank you for seeking additional funding support from Movetia for these events. I know the work of obtaining other resources or support for these kinds of events is challenging, and we appreciate your efforts to work together with aligned organizations to support your work.
    • Thank you for acknowledging this :-) The exhibition part of the project (Nos Jardins) will take place during September - October 2021 both in Cameroun and Switzerland.
  • What is the outreach plan will you be doing with the video for the exhibition launch? Are there specific audiences or groups you plan to reach, or platforms you want to use to share this content with? Do you need any support on potential ways to share your video in the movement?
    • We will circulate this video in various communities (trainers and trainees of the project, various Wikipedia sub-communities (WikiFranca, Wiki Loves Africa, Education community, Glam community etc.), artists and photo professionals) and platforms (Wiki in Africa, TEDxGeneva, our fav social media handles) already mentioned in the project. A post will be made at the completion of the project on the Education Newsletter (with the video) as well as on Wikimedia France blog. Any help to further disseminate this video would be greatly appreciated !
