About Proposal

Hello everyone! We are currently in the process of drafting and fine-tuning the document. We will be working on it and completing the proposal between this weekend and the middle of the following one.

simple APG Committee recommendation

We recommend that Wikimedia Colombia receive a grant of 13,700 USD for a year.

Wikimedia Colombia is presenting a solid plan, where activities are clearly tied to thoughtful and achievable goals. Their programs are straightforward and serve their goals of increasing content about Colombia in the WIkimedia projects, as well as have a strong focus on gender gap and increasing women's participation. The budget is well thought out and lean and supports clearly their program plan. We want to point out that it is important to think in advance about a good process to decide who will benefit from support to go to Wikimania in order to make sure that the funds are well used and that Wikimania attendance benefits the whole community. We also note that Wikimedia Colombia is planning to organize Iberoconf in 2020, and wonder how the grant processes could better streamline grant requests so that organizations don't have to fill two separate applications if they are already within the APG program. We will be looking forward to seeing WMCO's programs unfold this year.
