Grants talk:TPS/Brinacor/Communicating Astronomy with the Public Conference 2018/Report

Hello Brinacor,

Thank you for submitting this report.

Wow, there was great turnout for your talk and subsequent discussion! And it's a great indicator of the synergy around your topic that you continued to hear it referenced in other contexts during the conference. I think you're right that it's a good idea to think about how to follow up!

Also, thank you for writing such a thorough and well-developed learning pattern. I imagine you may be able to circulate it among some of the networking contacts you made at the conference.

You mentioned in your original request that you would be organizing a group of astronomy communicators interested in Wikipedia to continue discourse beyond the conference, as well as conducting a survey to gather information about how Wikipedia is used in this discipline. Can you please say more about how this went? I am very interested in the results of the survey.

I imagine the 10 email contacts you mentioned are a good start for the follow-up discourse. Now that some time has passed since you submitted this report, I would love an update. Your commitment to ongoing coordination of this discourse is one of the reasons that we decided to fund international participation in this conference and so please let me know if there is any support you need to continue, from me or the Wikipedia Education Team.

Kind regards,
