You mentioned the "initial hesitation", did you notice something who help you to get rid of it? would you consider to create a learning pattern about how to best catch the attention of the audience of a workshop of "outsiders" . Considering that the other sessions were almost exclusively monologues of 20 min or longer, followed by a brief Q & A part, I think this hesitation is understandable, especially since most of the participants in our session were rather young, and with Jane, we had the President of the Biophysical Society on stage. What helped break the ice was that both Jane and I were speaking, that we tried to add a pinch of humour, that we posed questions to the audience, and that we had things to show that helped stimulate discussion. -- Daniel Mietchen (talk) 20:37, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
