hi there,

I'm the program chair for SMWCon Spring 2014 and was asked to comment on this grant request. While it would certainly have value for SMW users, the Spring SMWCon is going to be more user / community oriented, so it's proposed that the Fall SMWCon would be a better venue to interact with developers.

Request not funded[edit]

Dear Ralf:

Thank you for your request. In light of David’s recommendation about the audience/attendees being more appropriate in the Fall conference, where more developers will be present, the committee has decided not to fund your request for participation in the SMWCon Spring. We’ve made our decision based on the following criteria, which are explained on the Travel and Participation Support page:

  1. Potential outcomes and impact: As your target audience is developers rather than users, the Spring conference is not likely to have the largest impact.

However, we welcome you to resubmit for the fall or other future conferences.
