Grants talk:TPS/Sky Harbor/Open Source Bridge 2015/Report

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

@Sky Harbor: Thank you for your report and sharing your experience in form of a learning pattern. However, we are persuaded that you could add more insights, for example with regards to the section „things to consider“, so that people who already raised their interest in replicating your approach can benefit even more from your know how. Last but not least, may we ask if the video of your presentation is already online?
Best wishes, --Muriel Staub (WMCH) (talk) 09:36, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Muriel, and thanks for pinging me on this. Once again, I apologize for not finishing my learning pattern, as I've been busy with other matters over the last few months and I have yet to find time to finish it. Rest assured that I will finish it though, and I will inform the PSC accordingly when I do.
That said, I can definitely add that to my report, as I think there are a couple of suggestions I can give towards replicating the approach I took. Finally, we were informed last October that all videos from the conference have been uploaded to YouTube, although oddly enough my presentation wasn't uploaded. I'm following this up with the conference organizers so I know what exactly happened. --Sky Harbor (talk) 01:49, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just an update on my end: the video can be found here. :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 03:22, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for linking to the video, Sky Harbor! I enjoyed watching it. Per the Reporting guidelines for TPS (see part 2 of Step 3), we need you to provide an outcome with your report before we can approve it. To that end, please notify participation (_AT_) wikimedia  · org when you have finished your learning pattern so we can close out your grant.
Best regards, --Marti (WMF) (talk) 19:27, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Marti, thanks for being so patient as I completed the learning pattern associated with this report. I have just finished it, so do take a look—I'll also be sending an e-mail pertaining to this matter. :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 08:37, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Report approved[edit]

Dear Sky Harbor,

We are approving this report after receiving and reviewing your completed Learning Pattern. The agreement with a TPS grant is to submit a completed report, including the outcome, within 14 days of the close of the event. Your report was due July 10, 2015, and the completion of your learning pattern on March 12, 2016 makes this report just over 8 months overdue. Please note that the long delay in the completion of the report does create additional administrative burden in processing your grant. Nevertheless, we very much appreciate your commitment to finishing and thank you for your work on this learning pattern.

Warm regards, --Marti (WMF) (talk) 17:40, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Marti, and thank you for approving my report. Once again, I do apologize for submitting this report very late, as this is the first time I've submitted a report for this program where significant output was required (this was not the case in 2013, when I last had an approved request), and of course that coupled with the other things I have to deal with, including putting Wikimedia Philippines' affairs in order, certainly didn't help. I hope though that this won't happen again with my future requests, and I'll definitely commit to producing output more expeditiously. That said, I do appreciate your patience and Janice's patience as well on this matter, and I look forward to engaging with the PSC in the future should I have future speaking engagements that are covered under this program. :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 16:24, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
