Request partially funded

[edit]

Hello Theredproject,

TPS is able to partially fund your request for USD 1950. Typically, TPS requests tend to be under $2,000 per event because few events last more than a few days. The length of your stay in Germany reflects the project-based nature of your request, and moves the request beyond the normal range of TPS, both in terms of typical funding range and program charge. Consequently, the Participation Committee has agreed to fund airfare for your participation in the Print Wikipedia DE exhibition, but has recommended that you transfer your request for accommodation and food during the project to the PEG request. We think it still makes sense to keep your airfare costs within TPS so flight purchase isn't further delayed. My apologies for what may seem like a confusing administrative request in light of our recent conversation about how to proceed. Kacie Harold_(WMF) has suggested that, if you wish to do so, you should move the remaining costs over to the PEG request as soon as possible since the Grants Advisory Committee has already begun review of your proposal.

Given that the PEG request may not be fully funded either, we want to encourage you to consider other funding routes. If you haven't already done so, you may wish to consult with WMDE about possible support.

Please review the next steps for your grant as described in "How the program works". Note that your post-event report must provide a link to an outcome from your participation. An outcome does not include the materials you prepare to present at the event (though we’d like you to link to those, too), but something that is created during or after the event because of your participation, such as a learning pattern to teach others something you've learned at the event, a link to something new that was co-created by you and your fellow participants at the event, or a blog post you wrote to share your experience with others after the event. We recommend that you start planning your outcome now so you are prepared to submit it as part of your report, which is due 14 days after the event.

Our Grants Administrator will be in touch with you about your grant. Thank you for work on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Hi @Mjohnson (WMF) and KHarold (WMF):, I have made the changes on the PEG grant. I will also post on the talk page. Thanks for the support and guidance. I checked with WMDE about funding and they seem hesitant and moving slower, so I think it is more effective to wait for the outcome of the PEG and then take it from there? Or do you think it is crucial to do so? Theredproject (talk) 20:41, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
