Comment[edit]

Dear Yemi festus

The Wikimedia User Group Nigeria community support fund committee has further reviewed your application, and they have some follow-up questions and requests regarding your application:

  • The cost of food is at a maximum of 1,500 NGN per participant
  • Certificate for participants cannot be funded at this time
  • We recommend that the photowalk be only one day.
  • Due to funding restrictions, we also recommend you make the upload session a one day event and maybe focus only on Commons (or both Commons and Wikidata if you can tackle both in one day)
  • Contingency is capped at 10,000 NGN

To enhance grantee experience, the WUGN has decided to provide internet support for the event. A google sheet will be provided where all participant phone numbers and service provider would be collated. This would be submitted a day before the event and airtime disbursement would be made available on the date of event. In line with this new development, the cost for all data should be excluded from your budget. Ashioma (WUGN) (talk) 08:22, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Responds[edit]

Dear Ashioma (WUGN),

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to review our proposal. We have carefully considered all your suggestions. However, below are our responses to your request.

  • We have decided to reduce the cost of feeding per participant to NGN1,500
  • We have also decided to remove certificate for participation, as suggested.
  • We considered a two-day photowalk to extend our coverage to secondary schools within the Badagry division of Lagos State. The Division comprises six local government areas: Iba Local Development Area, Ojo Local Government Area, Oto-Awori Local Development Area, Olorunda Local Development Area, Badagry Central Local Government Area, and Badagry West Local Development Area. Considering movements within these local governments, a one-day photowalk will be insufficient for achieving our broader coverage objective, so a two-day photowalk holds the potential to significantly impact the main objectives and scope of this project work.

However, we kindly request that the photowalk duration remain two days, as this extension is crucial for us to successfully reach and document our intended targets of secondary schools within Badagry Division of Lagos State.

  • We will strive to accomplish the uploading and creation of Wikidata items in one day as suggested.
  • We will adjust the contingency to NGN10,000

Thank you very much, as we anticipate for a positive partnership Yemi festus (talk) 01:57, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Yemi festus please effect those changes on the budget. You should also know that there is a budget cap for every month despite the 425,000 NGN limit for individual grants. We would not be able to fund up to four projects if your budget remains at that amount. Ashioma (WUGN) (talk) 08:15, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
