Explain your plan[edit]

Tell us about how you contribute currently, and how you would contribute if WMF were to gift a used laptop to you. I am an administrator of Ukrainian Wikisource. At the time when I started my work in Ukrainian Wikisource was on the 40+ place by the article count and counted 2K + articles. Now we are in the 28th place with 10K+ articles. I work in a small team with the Artem.komisarenko — (in the main) and we make very difficult job to integrate Wikisource to Wikipedia. In addition, we are build up our project. After actively contributing to Wikisource for two years project became five times more searchable in search engins than before this time. I has created 2867 pages at Wikisource.

Working as a volunteer, I made efforts and succeeded in encouraging several sites to be freely licensed. In particular, the resource on the History of Ukraine (page with a book), the journal «Oriental-world», local government bodies sites and other.

Moreover, I launched and manage pages of Ukrainian Wikisource in social media — Facebook, Twitter.

I also created 190+ articles on Wikipedia and edited Wikidata, the Wikiquote and uploaded to Wikimedia Commons about 1000 files.

My goal is to bring the Ukrainian Wikisource to the top 10-15 among all language sections. It would be easier for me to have a good laptop for this task. Because I have to rent a home constantly being migrant due to the armed conflict in my home region, I can't afford it for myself now due to financial difficulties. Unfortunately, my laptop is in poor technical condition, this fact makes my work difficult.

Endorsements[edit]

  1. Input of Arxivist is very useful. --Visem (talk) 23:59, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Arxivist is most active member of Ukrainian Wikisource community, also he's valuable member of community IRL Artem.komisarenko (talk) 19:28, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Arxivist is very active in developing and promoting Ukrainian Wikisource and is an active member of Wikimedia Ukraine. He is an IDP due to the War in Donbas (his home town is just a few kilometres from the front), which is why he is unlikely to afford buying a laptop himself. As a valuable contributor needing a laptop he is clearly a good canidate — NickK (talk) 23:37, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
