What is happening in Let’s Connect this month

Welcome to July’s issue of the Let’s Connect monthly newsletter. Last month was pride month and in good Let’s Connect fashion we celebrated pride with other celebrations during our Connectathon.

We look forward to engaging many of you, our Lets Connect participants, as we start our evaluation process for the second phase

Movement Charter Vote Ongoing June 25 - July 9 Voting period to ratify the Wikimedia Movement Charter.

  • Registrations for Wikimania 2024 is already approaching 1000 registrations. Wikimania 2024 will be held in Katowice, Poland 7-10 August 2024. It will feature the in-person conference at the Katowice International Conference Centre and will be streamed online on Eventyay, an open-source virtual and hybrid event platform.


You can register for the in-person event by 26 July and for the online event anytime.

  • Discussions about the Movement Charter and the future of governance have been the focus of the Wikimedia Summit 2024. The final Movement Charter is now up for ratification and all eligible affiliates and individual voters are invited to participate in the vote before July 9, 23:59 UTC.


If you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to cast your vote as an affiliate and as an individual voter, and to spread the word to your communities. The vote will only be valid if at least 50% of eligible affiliates and 2% of eligible individual voters participate.
