The Marathi Wikimedians User Group Annual Report of activities for year 2020-2021[edit]

Introduction[edit]

Being year 2020-2021 was severely affected by Covid-19 pandemic lock downs and restrictions which affect the outreach activities. Still Marathi Wikimedians User Group conducted good number activities. Members focus more on  awareness content creation and joint activities for Marathi Wikipedia.

Marathi Wikipedia with Art+Feminism[edit]

Organized editathon with ART + Feminism for creation of content on Marathi Wikipedia. Due to the pandemic situation, the event was organized in virtual mode. The response from editors in the online event was overwhelming. More than 70 articles are created during the event.

Marathi Wikipedia Women's editathon 2021[edit]

Conducted Women's Editathon on World women’s day for bridging the gender gap on Marathi Wikipedia. The event page is here

To counter the gender imbalance on Marathi Wikimedian's group started conducting a Women's Editathon. This year we partner with “Tarabai Shinde Women’s Study Center” , Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.

The articles created were related to Women's business, women's sociology, women's politics, women’s fashion, jewelry, women’s education and business. The event was conducted on World Women’s Day on 8th March 2021. The objective is

To bring the women to Marathi Wikipedia.
Train them to use it
Create new articles
Increase the Wikipedia's community

Marathi Language Day Celebration and Training Program[edit]

On the occasion of Marathi language day, the Marathi Wikipedia user group conducted an online training program on 27th February 2021. More than 250 participants attained the training. In view of the Covid pandemic and its restrictions, the program was conducted online.

Partnership[edit]

Marathi Wikimedians user group has partnered with “Tarabai Shinde Women’s Study Center”, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. This has helped to bring more women editors on Marathi Wikipedia to bridge the gender gap.

Collaboration[edit]

Marathi wikimedians user group has collaborated with knowledge Boards of the government of Maharashtra under the encyclopedia creation board. This year we collaborated with
