Reflection

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Introspection about what Wikipedia and its sister projects are doing, who are contributing and reading, and how Wikimedia as a body is developing, are all of great importance. In particular, statistics and data about growth and change over time are useful to both community decisions and to other organizations making predictions about their own development based on Wikipedia's experience.

References[edit]

  • General User Survey -- a general project which should be implemented, in simple global form, as soon as possible and with serious statisticians and academics to advise on its implementation
  • Statistics -- we need more and more diverse statistics. Programs such as History Flow which provide visualizations of large datasets, and log analysis such as Erik Zachte's and Brian's qwikly scripts, should be run as frequently as possible on all available dumps.
