It could also be argued that it is volunteer run. :-) (It is run by volunteers of the Foundation, whether or not they get paid by the chapter for their jobs is a different matter... especially since a few employees with the large majority of board/members being volunteers). this message will be confusing for all those living in a country where there is no tax deduction. In the translation, it might even appear abusive ?

A tax receipt is something you get for any sum of money you pay, whether or not tax deductibility is relevant. It means that the organization/company/business reports the payment as required by law. General comments[edit]

While translating the core messages into Hebrew I encountered the following issues. They might be relevant to other languages as well.

What exactly does "show support" means? If it is a link, where does it lead to?

The word "chapter" in this context has no Hebrew equivalent. I wrote: "local Wikimedia associations" or "local associations"; I hope that's okay.

I didn't quite understand the concept of "to complete a donation". If the donation is processed by PayPal, why is the donor asked whether s/he'd like to "complete" the donation using PayPal?

I tried to use gender-neutral language as much as I could. In many cases I switched to the plural forms when addressing the potential donor (a bit like saying "they" instead of "he" or "she", which is common in Hebrew when writing instructions in a gender-neutral manner).
that sounds like a good idea, we do the same.
As usual, the right-to-left writing causes some problems with punctuation and when inserting names in Latin characters into the Hebrew text. This is also relevant to Arabic and Persian. Dror_K 02:58, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Donors are more generic terms and it could include content contributors.

The distinction of those two words should be kept in translation (as possible as you can).

Translation into Sindhil language[edit]

Why don't I find Sindhi language in the list on the Right side of this page? Aren't any messages translated into Sindhi? If so, how can I start translating them?
