Support margin

What is "a support margin of at least 80%"? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.91.51.235 (talk) 09:52, 1 June 2019 (UTC)

TheWikimedia software won't let me log in-- unable to rename or view UTRS tickets.70.126.70.40 10:21, 25 September 2019 (UTC) (Deepfriedokra).

PS. My only interest in renaming is renaming requests from en users blocked for inappropriate usernames. No interest at all in global anything beyond handling these rename/unblock requests.70.126.70.40 10:24, 25 September 2019 (UTC)(Deepfriedokra) @Boing! said Zebedee:Advice or assistance welcome.70.126.70.40 10:26, 25 September 2019 (UTC) (Deepfriedokra)

Hi. I'm no longer a renamer and can't access any of the rename stuff, so I can't help, sorry. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:06, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
Hi, .70.126.70.40, Do you mean you're User:Deepfriedokra or what? – Ammarpad (talk) 18:41, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
Considering that Deepfriedokra was successfully renaming before and after this request, I suspect it isn't. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 07:00, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
So if he is not the one, whom do you think is making the request or how do you understand this request?. The only way I understand it is: User:Deepfriedokra made this post after he was unable to login. The only other possible explanation, I can think of, is that the IP is a troll/or making bad faith request. I don't know whether there's third alternative explanation though. – Ammarpad (talk) 07:35, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
{{ping|Those are the only two options I can think of. @Deepfriedokra: Can you help us here? Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:52, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

@Boing! said Zebedee and Ammarpad: Yes. It is I. Intriguingly, I cannot log in to Wikimedia if logged in to en.Wiki. If I log in with a different browser (Microsoft Edge), I can log in to both on the separate browsers. Perhaps the problem lies in Chrome, though Edge got stuck trying to go from MediaWiki to en.Wiki. So I'm using Chrome on en.Wiki and Edge on Wikimedia. And I must say, trying to fix this problem has been an exasperating experience. If anyone knows where to report this problem, I'd be glad to hear it.Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:23, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

@Deepfriedokra: I asked about that error message in tech channel and they said - it's because a "CSRF token" gets baked into the login form every time you load it. it's to prevent bad people from mimicking the login page -- they won't have that token so can't actually log in as you.. you get that message if the token doesn't match what the server expects, so it generates a new token and ask you to try again.. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 14:36, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
@1997kB: Thanks. Trouble is, it won't accept my tokens in Chrome. But I seem to doing fine with Edge. One step closer to the heat-death of the universe.Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:09, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
