Lostpedia

Please add Lostpedia to interwiki. This will be useful for adding links between Lostpedia, Wikipedia and lost.wikia wiki's. I'm making an educated guess on the format here, but since Lostpedia has several different language instances, I'm not 100% sure what the correct interwiki syntax would be. For now it's probably a good start to link to the en version of Lostpedia. Link is...

  • [[lostpedia:Article name]]

It would go here...

Thanks, --Jabrwocky7 17:44, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Done. MaxSem 16:53, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

BattlestarWiki

Link is...

  • [[BattlestarWiki:Article name]]

It would go here...

Already exists. Needs a URL change.. We created a Wiki Farm system so the one that is stored in here will soon be invaild. Thanks! :) --Shane

Any updates on this? --Shane 02:49, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Wikible, a free Biblical Encyclopedia

  • [[wikible:Article name]]

It would go here...

This wiki is new, but has already amassed more content then WikiChristian, which is included in the Interwiki table already. It definitely applies to hundreds if not thousands of articles, and there are multiple language versions of Wikible. --66.243.175.34 03:27, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone have any opinions on this? Agree/Disagree? --69.250.40.75 16:50, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm in agreement. Any admins want to add this? --J. J. 20:42, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Can it be changed to wikible.org/en/$1 without the "www"? They prefer that. --64.22.206.248 05:41, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Test.Wikipedia

I'd appreciate if someone would add a TestWiki: or Test: prefix for http://test.wikipedia.org. It's not a big deal, but I do a lot of testing over on that wiki and would find it quite helpful to provide links to the various test pages I work on there within Wikipedia. Thanks. AmiDaniel 05:30, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

I concur with this. Something like w:test:Main page should work just like w:de:Hauptseite does. —Nightstallion (?) 05:53, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Are you sure it works? I couldn't get it to work... —Nightstallion (?) 07:27, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

I've left a note on bugzilla. Korg + + 21:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Try testing "test" It doesn't work. moved some others below Koavf 20:37, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I've changed it to tw:foo; maybe the script doesn't like prefixes starting with 'test'. *shrug* // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 04:26, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Nope, tw is for the en:Twi language. Does "testwiki" work? —Nightstallion (?) 06:28, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
The testwiki: prefix works now. Korg + + 23:18, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! —Nightstallion (?) 11:46, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Appropedia

Note, the syntax for this site is likely to change in September 06, so it may be preferred to wait till then before adding. --Singkong2005 05:59, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Please add:

Appropedia || http://www.appropedia.org/index.php?title=$1

Thanks --Singkong2005 05:32, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Useful because it allows for other wiki articles on sustainability and appropriate technology to link to original research, projects (mostly homemade), curricula, tools, howtos, organizations and social networks about the described topic. Thank you --201.124.59.252 17:43, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I'd add international development (aid, politics, economics), permaculture and ecovillage-related wikis as being potentially quite connected with Appropedia. --Singkong2005 05:51, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

WikiLemon URL

The current interwiki URL for WikiLemon is set as http://wiki.illemonati.com/wiki/$1. While that is recognized by the server, the preferred URL is the shortened http://wiki.illemonati.com/$1. Not important, but it would be appreciated if it could be changed to the latter for consistency's sake. --72.166.213.133 20:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

TVTropes.org

[1] should be added, as it can be useful to reference character tropes when discussing fiction on the English wikipedia. :) -w:User:Zythe 20:13, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Done. [[TVtropes:$1]] will make link to http://www.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/$1. -- mzlla 13:00, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
It still seems to come up as red links. TVtropes:SunnydaleSyndrome - see :) w:User:Zythe 14:17, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
I think it may get a while after the change goes to database. -- mzlla 14:27, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Course wiki at Cal State LA

The CSULA CS Department wiki is used for a number of courses at CSULA. It is accumulating information on software topics that would be useful to a number of wiki pages.

BS01 Wiki request

Requesting that the Bionicle Sector 01 Wiki be added.

BS01Wiki:Main Page to http://www.biosector01.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

Thanks!

Could you explain the usefulness or significance of the link? Would it be useful on many Foundation wiki pages? // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 19:01, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes, it would be useful in the Bionicle pages on Wikipedia, especially in the external links sections. --TorriTorri 08:20, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
If this is only useful on a few pages, you should use the external link syntax instead; for example, "[http://www.biosector01.com biosector01]" outputs "biosector01". // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 22:30, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

I'd like to request that the MacFOH Wiki be added.

Could you explain the usefulness or significance of the link? Would it be useful on many Foundation wiki pages? // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 19:01, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

LyricWiki

I'd like to request that you add the LyricWiki interwiki prefix. I feel it would be very useful to many wiki-projects (most notably Wikipedia since it has such a large number of songs/artists/albums on it). One reason that it would be useful is that it is so thorough, being the largest non-wikipedia wiki on the planet. In addition, wikipedia does not deal with lyrics itself (for fear that those copyright issues may bring an end to the whole site if they go awry).
Thanks!

There may be legal issues involved in deliberately linking to potential copyright violations. I'll ask for advice from users more knowledgeable in intellectual property rights before adding this to the map. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 04:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
*BUMP*
Not done per legal issues cited above and consensus in discussions with other Wikimedians. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 05:35, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Legal issues have been resolved... LyricWiki now deals with publishers to pay royalties on lyrics, and has a system set up so that other publishers whom it does not deal with can claim their stake, so it is completely legal.

Please explain how this prefix would be useful to a significant number of pages on Wikimedia Foundation wikis. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 04:48, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Not done, callto: prefix in URLs is now supported by MediaWiki itself. MaxSem 11:59, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Google

Ce serait bien d'avoir des liens de recherche google vers toute les langues utilisé par Google. It will be good to have link to search with google in all the langages. 90.5.173.4 19:17, 4 July 2006 (UTC) VIGNERON

Not done; the languages Google searches is set by individual user preferences. Although this can theoretically be set through the URL, this is undesireable; it overrides user preferences and adds redundancy to the interwiki map. If you believe Google searches would be more useful if they were multilingual, please seek consensus to change the current Google prefix. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 04:54, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

The Infosphere

I'd like to see The Infosphere (a Futurama wiki) added to the map if possible. [[Infosphere:$1]] as a prefix. [2] - 138.130.62.136 06:39, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Please explain how this prefix would be useful to a significant number of pages on Wikimedia Foundation wikis. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 04:55, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Not done. If you really want this added, you should explain why this should be done. I checked http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALinksearch&target=futurama.overt-ops.com, and most of the links seems to be in Talk, User and User talk namespaces, not in articles. Otherwise, the key Infosphere is not really good, I think that there are some other pages which are more known by name Infosphere. -- mzlla 13:08, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

WikiIndex

How about adding WikiIndex.org, an index of wikis?

Please explain how this prefix would be useful to a significant number of pages on Wikimedia Foundation wikis. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 04:57, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

YTMND Wiki

Wikipedia currently only has one single article on YTMND, a link to YTMND Wiki could be useful. (sorry I had to remove a bit of text here to get the rest of the page past the spam filter?) [[YTMND:Article]] or [[YTMND Wiki:Article]] 85.30.155.6 19:26, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

We're currently discussing blacklisting of ytmnd, so it's probably a bad idea. MaxSem 19:01, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

WikiDream

This Wiki has a very wide scope, however, because it is not just an encyclopedia, it can contain both encyclopedic and unencyclopedic content, therefore making it useful. Details on what extra content it contains is on the main page Minun Spiderman 19:21, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

So far this wiki does not have sufficient content[3] to be linked to. MaxSem 07:11, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
The Special:Statstics on my wiki is for some reason innaccurate. I counted how many pages there was from the Special:Allpages and there was around 21. Minun Spiderman 11:35, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Not enough anyway. There's no content useful enough to warrant a link from Wikimedia projects. And interwiki should be made only if this site is often referenced. Not done. MaxSem 11:48, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Its linked to quite often, it has quite a lot of links on Wikibooks (Special:Linksearch/http://wikidream.elwiki.com) and also in a few other wikis Minun Spiderman 15:20, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
