Talk:List of largest wikis/Archives/2007

Namespaces on susning

As one of the ol' editors on susning, I reacted on the notion that susning.nu had namespaces. I am/was just a user there so I could be wrong, but if that wiki does have namespaces they are not much used. Some pages are created with slashes, like if they were subpages, beginning with "susning.nu" [1] but I don't suppose this actually counts as namespaces. My removal of susning from the section listing wikis with namespaces was removed without much comment on it [2] so I would like a comment on the existance of namespaces on susning. (I contacted the owner and maintainer of susning.nu, Lars Aronsson, on his talk page on Swedish wikipedia to get a comment on the matter but have so far gotten no reply.) // habj 17:21, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Oops. This went over the roof at one of the table repair actions. I will reinstate this change. RobiH 05:27, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Other wiki engines with stats pages

Do you know of any other wiki engines besides Mediawiki, that provide a standard URL with statistics (preferably in "raw" format) that are similar to Mediawiki statistics? Then i could probably add a lot more wikis to my script. Mutante 19:34, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

LyricWiki

There are two entries for it on the list, Lyric Wiki and LyricWiki (right now at 26 & 27), the on with the space in the middle should be deleted, but wan't sure what to do to remove it from the bot that gathers the information, so I didn't remove it. --WillMak050389 17:14, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

mutante has fixed it. 82.212.63.18 08:39, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

WebsiteWiki

Would WebsiteWiki qualify for inclusion? Current article count is 213331, which is mostly generated, but open for editing. WsW 18:22, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Included. RobiH 20:59, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Richdex

Also, should computer/bot generated wikis like Richdex be included? It contains no user generated articles that I can see.

Pwiscombe

I would vote to exclude Richdex, because it's not a wiki, it's just a website using Mediawiki.
why? http://domains.richdex.com/index.php?title=Talk:Main_Page&action=edit -> You have to log in to edit pages.
no problem, but: no real users http://domains.richdex.com/index.php?title=Special:Statistics
There have been a total of 1,091 page views, and 7,480,093 page edits since the wiki was setup. That comes to 1.00 average edits per page, and 0.00 views per edit.

A Mediawiki is a Mediawiki. No manual exclusions. But what sorting criteria might reflect relevancy of a wiki better than the current one? RobiH 05:51, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
The lemma is wiki not sites using Mediawiki, as far as I remember.
A sorting criteria could be Edits - Good articles. --Kawana 22:28, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Its true that the lemma is not correct, and actually it should be List of largest Mediawikis, but the limitation to Mediawikis is a mere technical one, because i dont know of other Engines providing Special:Statistics pages that way (especially a "raw" version), or do you? Mutante 22:51, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Galbijim Wiki

This wiki is also over 8000 pages: http://wiki.galbijim.com 203.231.200.136 08:33, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Centiare

Would Centiare.com qualify for inclusion? According to an independent site, it is the 4th-largest wiki using the Semantic Mediawiki extension. --Centiare 14:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Renumber rankings on sort change?

How about changing the ranking numbers when you click to sort by a different column so that you can see how different ones add up by different measures (e.g. number of users, raw article count, or image count)? 71.198.127.97 17:46, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

This would require nested tables for the sake of keeping the ranks column outside the inner (sortable) table. I guess, that wouls make the whole creation too complex and too clumsy. RobiH 21:20, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
