Dealing with apologies[edit]

I know it isn't that important, but we seem to be in a bit of a merry-go-round with the apologies section. On most meetup pages apologies (or equivalent) are placed on the main meetup page. However, for most of the history of the London meetups, apologies were instead placed on the talk page. However by London 64 I was finding myself repeatedly moving apologies from the main meetup page to the talk page, so I decided to be bold and move the apologies back to the main meetup page to save effort. I deliberately used the term "be bold" to invite objection, which never came. Now I note that apologies has been moved back the talk page again. Personally, I can see no reason why they shouldn't be on the main meetup page. In any case, I think now would be a good opportunity to re-format the attendees list to be more useful. I think "apologies" is a little too formal for this type of meetup and I would also suggest that there be a "Maybe" option. I therefore propose replacing the attendees list with three sections, these being: "Attending", "Maybe attending", and "Not attending". Any thoughts? Yes, let's try that! Gordo (talk) 13:48, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I have implemented it on all future London meetup pages. CT Cooper · talk 14:00, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
