Talk:New Editor Experiences

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Research...[edit]

Per Talk:New_Readers#Research_reports_on_Meta, I'd recommend a move to the Research namespace now. If it wasn't for the research component, I'd have moved all of this right away to mediawiki.org ;) --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 09:11, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think moving to MW.org might be better, really. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 18:16, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Jdforrester (WMF) why do you think so? The research namespace is where the vast majority of our research projects are documented. It even has a handy list of projects by year, which makes work a whole lot more visible. Since this is a solely research-focused project, it that seems like the natural location to me. Jmorgan (WMF) (talk) 18:35, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmorgan (WMF): The local meta community don't seem to want to continue for this to be that location, and all of our work is otherwise on MW.org, so… Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 19:20, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Jdforrester (WMF) a fair point. Jmorgan (WMF) (talk) 20:40, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know, Mediawiki wiki is about the software itself and its development, while Meta-Wiki wiki is about Wikimedia movement, its people and Wikimedia projects, therefore I think Meta-Wiki is the proper place to host the researches about Wikimedia communities. As Elitre (WMF) said, this should be in Research namespace. --Zerabat (discusión) 13:02, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Zerabat: Well, MW.org is about all forms of technical change, including technical changes for the Wikimedia communities. The New Editor Experiences research project plans to make a series of recommendations about technical changes for software used by Wikimedia communities, trying to help them be more welcoming and successful.
