Angela Beesley se retire du Conseil d'administration
Le 1^er juillet, Angela Beesley a annoncé sa démission du Conseil d'administration de laFondation Wikimedia. Angela était déjà une contributrice aux projets depuis plusieurs années lorsqu'elle a été élue au Conseil d'administration à la mi-2004. Elle a annoncé son intention de continuer à contribuer en tant qu'éditeur et souhaite apporter son aide à la création d'une association locale en Australie. Nouvelle version officielle de la Politique de confidentialité
La Politique de confidentialité récemment révisée a été officialisée le 1^er juillet. Approuvée par le Conseil d'administration en juin, elle s'applique désormais à tous les wikis gérés par la Fondation Wikimedia. Les principales modifications concernent la fonctionnalité CheckUser, qui n'existait pas au moment de la publication de la précédente version de la politique de confidentialité. En savoir plus... La Fondation Wikimedia engage un Directeur exécutif intérimaire
La Fondation a engagé Brad Patrick en tant que avocat conseil et Directeur exécutif intérimaire. Il est désormais chargé d'encadrer son équipe de salarié et les opérations menés par eux. C'est dans ce cadre qu'il s'occupera de rechercher un Directeur exécutif permanent, en charge des activités administratives de la Fondation Wikimedia ; après quoi il se consacrera exclusivement à sa fonction d'avocat conseil. Power outage on the 9th of April 2006
PowerMedium had some sort of network and/or power outage for about an hour from circa 19:20 UTC. Brion and his team restored the site as quickly as possible. English Wikipedia publishes millionth article
The Wikimedia Foundation has announced the creation of the 1,000,000th article in the English language edition of Wikipedia. The article is about the Jordanhill railway station in Scotland. Wikipedia is a free, multilingual, online encyclopedia with 3.3 million articles under development in more than 125 languages. (N. Moreau, 08 March 2006)
