Note sulla traduzione

L'ultima riga mi sembra poco comprensibile perché la parola "orientamenti" è molto generica. Capisco che l'indice o uno schema (scheme, infatti, è parola usata in inglese) possano escludere, ma ho difficoltà a pensare esempi più generali. Cordialmente --Pinea (talk) 00:05, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

Abuse of seniority - abuso di anzianità

"We expect people with significant experience and connections in the movement to behave with special care" is presently translated as "Ci aspettiamo delle persone con significativa esperienza e contatti all'interno del movimento di comportarsi con particolare attenzione". There are two mistakes: 1) "delle persone" in this context means nothing: as "people" is the subject of the secondary clause, in Italian it can be translated either as "che le persone... si comportino", with a secondary objective clause with "le persone" as subject or as "dalle persone.. che si comportino" as an agent; 2) in Italian, the verb of the secondary clause can be an infinitive if it is related to the subject of the primary one: in "we expect people to behave" there are two different subjects, "we" (subject of the verb "expect") and "people" (subject of the verb "to behave"), so in the Italian translation "behave" must be rendered through an explicit verb form, otherwise it would mean "we expect us to behave"! That's why I ask to correct the translation into "Ci aspettiamo dalle persone con significativa esperienza e contatti all'interno del movimento che si comportino con particolare attenzione". Grazie mille, la preposizione era un errore di battitura, il di comportarsi era invece un orrore da traduzione frettolosa. Su itwiki ci sono altre proposte di migliorie della traduzione che sono da "recepire" nel testo. --Civvi (WMF) (talk) 13:36, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
