What does a scholarship encompass?

[edit]

I trust that a sholarship includes flight, accomodation, food and conference fees. But what about

  • Travel from home to airport and back and travel from Abuja airport to conference hotel and back (in my case 50 Euro)
  • Visa costs (in my case 250 Euro)
  • Vaccination and prohylaxis costs (for example in my case poliomyelitis, meningococcus, malaria)?

I posted this 5 days ago, I wrote an e-mail to wikiindaba2019scholarship(_AT_)gmail.com 3 days ago but no reply. So maybe I have to ping the members of the Scholarship Committee to get an answer?

Hi Gereon K.. We apologize for this extremely slow response. We have received your email. The committee will review your questions and respond accordingly. Thank you. T Cells (talk) 07:46, 21 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Hello again Gereon K., and thanks for your questions. Wiki Indaba 2019 in Nigeria scholarship covers accommodation, food and conference fees. We are also able to cover local transport from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to hotel and conference venue. Unfortunately, the scholarship for Wiki Indaba 2019 in Nigeria will not cover visa costs, vaccination and prophylaxis costs as well as travel from home to airport and back home from applicants country's airport. We apologize for any inconveniences that this might cost you. Thank you. T Cells (talk) 18:06, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, T Cells. Since the Nigerian, which is more than 500 km away, demands live interviews with first time visitors of Nigeria (and only between Monday and Friday and about 2 months prior to arrival), I will have to look for an additional alternative scholarship in case my scholarship application gets accepted. --Gereon K.
