Talk:Wiki personality type

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Oversimplified![edit]

I think the whole concept of personality "classes" is an oversimplification and ultimately misleading. People's personalities are much more then a simple label. People's personalities are, at the minimum, a collection of attributes. A better classification system would be by attribute, rather then creating vague and misleading stereotypes.

See w:Personality for background.

From VfD[edit]

  • Move to meta. RickK 06:24, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Ditto. Dysprosia 06:35, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Good call. Quite nice though. Pteron 06:51, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Certainly move somewhere. Just look at how brilliant it is (no offence meant, Wik, but you missed another one). But it can't stay in the article namespace. Meta or project? Andrewa 07:10, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Meta, see m:Wikipedia sociology -- Cyrius|&#9998 07:50, Apr 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Agreed: Meta. Cribcage 14:02, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • Intresting topic, but at the very least it should be under Wikipedia:Wiki personality type instead of Wiki personality type, even if we don't delete it outright (which I hope we don't). Unless Wikipedia poster behavior has become as independently famous as, well, Slashdot trolling phenomena have. Wiwaxia 22:44, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Move. Neat article. I'd say that although the archetypes are sound, each of us has parts of more than one archetype. Someone ought to compare against other personality typers like MBTI. - UtherSRG 00:34, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Seems kind of biased in favour of Inclusionists and anti-deletionist. OlEnglish 20:52, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this really about personality types?[edit]

Is this really about Wiki personality types, or simply different strategies that different people may have in terms of how they view, use and edit Wikipedia? Perhaps we need more empirical data suggesting that these different types really do correlate with different personality types before we can confidently describe these as "Wiki personality types".
