Precedent[edit]

What precedents are there for using educational videos in Indian society? Who has already tried any similar project for any purpose? Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:43, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • The project aims to create tutorials based on screen cast for training new editors. Government of India is using it very effectively. Many similar experiments are happening all around. I am mentioning a few here.
The similar projects are
  • In India (To mention few)
  1. National Programme on Technology Enhance Learning (NPTEL)
  2. Corridors Of Learning
  • World wide (To mention few)
  1. MIT Open Courseware
  2. UC Berkeley's central service for online video & audio for students
  • Other than education
  1. TED for sharing ideas
  2. Stanford University for Entrepreneurship

Thank you. It would be great if more people knew how to make their own videos. I also have worked in India to try to teach people to make content for YouTube. It was very difficult and tutorial videos are necessary. Blue Rasberry (talk) 00:15, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposers past[edit]

I would like to bring to the attention of WMF that the proposer has been accused of abusing dalits who tried to commit suicide outside his office. A case has been registered against the proposer of this project with the police. DNA report Economic Times report. Does the WMF support such people? Declining for Wikimedia Community Fellowship[edit]

Thanks for submitting your idea! This project seems to be aimed primarily at readers rather than editors, and as such it has been passed over in favor of other projects more in line with the theme of this year's fellowship program. It might be of interest to WMF India, however, who award their own fellowships, so if you haven't already been in contact with that team you could do so (we also forwarded the idea along when it first came in). Best of luck, Siko Bouterse (WMF) (talk) 05:32, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
