Talk:Wikimedia Foundation Annual Plan/2016-2017/Final

Translations[edit]

Hello, I'm translating the 2016-17 annual plan to Spanish. Some words are extremely hard to translate.

In particular, I have absolutely no idea what is exactly "insight" or "Advancement", much less how to translating. I have also no idea what is a "non-program", much less a "non-programmatic work".

"Support" is a tricky word, as "soporte/soportar" is a false friend (it's for objects, not activities). I have doubted between "ayudar", "promover", "impulsar" and "facilitar".

"Workflow" could be translated to "flujo de trabajo", but it's hard to understand, so I've used "processes". "Efforts" doesn't exactly sound like "esfuerzo", but as synonym for "work".

I agree that using such buzzwords doesn't comply with Writing clearly. --Nemo 11:56, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Extension granted for mid-year report[edit]

The Wikimedia Foundation has requested and received a one month extension from the FDC to complete its Mid-Year Progress Report on the 2016-17 Annual Plan. This year, the Foundation has had to design a new reporting process that aligns with the new structure of the WMF's Annual Plan. All WMF departments are completing their components of this mid-year report, and it's due to be published on Meta wiki by Feb 28th, 2017.

Table formatting[edit]

Hi everyone, as a board member participating to APG since it's creation, I know how painful filling tables in mediawiki is! However I really think that financial figures should always be aligned to right in order to get something readable.

Thank you for sharing the report! --PierreSelim (talk) 04:55, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
