@AshLin: What do you think about polling all candidates and somehow the larger community about the portrait gallery issues you brought up in this weekend's call? I'm including draft text below, if you agree we can post an edited version. Adamw (talk) 21:14, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposal

[edit]

(unconfirmed) 1.(a) Take down all photo galleries of candidates such as on Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2021/Candidates, replace with a list of candidate names. (b) Randomize the order of candidates so that it changes every few hours. (c) No recommendation about the photos on each candidate's page.

Opinions

[edit]

(unconfirmed) AshLin as proposer.

Support Support Image galleries are plagued by implicit bias. What we imagine we are judging is a candidate's character, but this sense can be confounded by our irrational prejudices. If we agree with this statement, there is some urgency to take the gallery down as electors are already viewing the page. Adamw (talk)

Support Support This would ensure that superficial approach in choosing candidates won't influence the outcome. (a bit late to the party)--Alexander Davronov (talk) 15:15, 20 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
