Vietnam Wikimedians Eligibility[edit]

Good day! I am quite confused on the eligibility of Vietnam Wikimedians UG whose approval was in August 2018 (more than a year from now already). It shows there "not until Wikimedia Summit 2020" but they are not eligible to register? --Exec8 (talk) 16:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Exec8:, thanks for the hint, I think that's a copy & paste error. Can you clarify, @DNdubane (WMF):? --Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE) (talk) 16:40, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I think it is a typo error, @Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE):. I checked their meta page and they have reports and I personally know they actively engaged in ESEAP activities as well. --Exec8 (talk) 16:48, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yo. Dumisani will clarify this. --Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE) (talk) 16:56, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Ok, we will catch up and wait for it. 148.204.66.104 16:46, 8 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I am from Vietnam Wikimedians UG. I want to check how is the status of this group now? Alphama (talk) 05:47, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Asian Month User Group[edit]

Bonjour! Wikipedia Asian Month handed on the report already. Is that possible that we will be eligible for the Wikimedia Summit 2020? Li-Yun Lin (talk) 12:24, 8 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Li-Yun Lin:, quoting the page: “Importantly, catching up on your reporting may be as simple as updating your listing and reporting links on the report page. We (the WMF Learning & Evaluation team) are watching updates to that page and will be making updates to the eligibility listing accordingly." If you need any support regarding your eligibility, please check with @DNdubane (WMF):. Best regards, --Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE) (talk) 12:28, 8 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedians of Perú/Wikimedistas de Perú[edit]

Hello. I am just wondering about Peru's situation. The first group, led by user Kírito seems to be up for registration, since it was the first attempt to create a user group in Perú. That group was somehow de-recognized, and then another group appeared under the same name in spanish, Wikimedistas de Perú, led by other wikimedians that decided to keep on with the projects. Both links lead to the same page in Meta, Wikimedistas de Perú, but the first one seems to be ready to go to Wikimedia Summit, and the second one appears to be unable to go since their recognition was just less than a year ago. Are members from the first group allowed to go? --Edjoerv (talk) 04:56, 16 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

@DNdubane (WMF):, can you help in this case? Please advise. --Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE) (talk) 15:34, 16 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
My apologies, I have now corrected the record. Wikimediastas de Peru was recognised in September 2019, after the group with similar name lost its affiliation last year due to non-reporting. Since this group has not completed 12 months since recognition, it is not aligible to attend the Summit.
Regards

Thank you both for your help, Cornelius and Dumisani! --Edjoerv (talk) 18:11, 16 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

How to sign up?[edit]

I had no desire to participate before the Summit became all-remote. I see I am a member of two eligible user groups, and I'd like to sign up. What do I need to do? I'd prefer to keep my real name private. In one of the user groups, I participate under my real name, and I'm pretty sure that the others IRL don't know my userid and vice-versa. EllenCT (talk) 17:36, 11 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@EllenCT:: Hi, we're still working on the concept for the virtual Summit – it's not ready yet, unfortunately. As soon we know more, I'll share more details about how to participate. As long as your affiliate was eligible for the physical Wikimedia Summit, you are of course eligible to attend an online event as well. Best regards, --Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE) (talk) 11:08, 12 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. EllenCT (talk) 11:13, 12 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I note that the registration form at [1] requires disclosure of real names and email addresses, so I will not be attending. EllenCT (talk) 22:57, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Again, @EllenCT:, you are linking to a form that does not belong to our conference, neither the cancelled physical one, nor the planned virtual one. For the virtual conference, pseudonymous participation will be allowed. Best regards, --Cornelius Kibelka (WMDE) (talk) 13:06, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry if I misunderstood. Thank you. Please let me have another look at all this. EllenCT (talk) 14:14, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
