誤訳もあるし前の版のFAQの訳なので修正しました。訳していて以下のようなところが気になりましたが、まあ大きな誤訳はないだろうと思っています。
- 支部は財団を代表するか
- What are local chapters? では、"represent it (if not legally then at least morally) within a specified geographical region (country)" なんて、括弧書きを飛ばして詠んだら「支部は財団を代表する」と書きつつ、後で "Do chapters legally represent the Foundation?" で「法的には代表しない」と言っていて、誤解を恐れぬ大胆な文章になっていますね。
- そういえば、What are local chapters? では、"Local chapters are membership organizations" と言い切りつつ、What legal form should a local chapter have? では "but the final legal form should be chosen in the view of best fulfilling the goals similar to those of Wikimedia" と、会員組織じゃなくてもよいような書きっぷりになっています。
- Wikimedia UK はなぜ例外
- What legal form should a local chapter have? で、英国支部が例外的だと書いていますが、理由がわからないため解釈に自信がありません。法制度的な理由があるのでしょうか。
- meeting notes
- うーん、何で munites と言わずに meeting notes と言うんでしょう。正式の会議議事録ではなく、会議メモのようなものを含んでいるからでしょうか。
- local history Wikireaders
- history って、履歴？歴史？ 自国の歴史についてのウィキ読み機なのか、履歴機能を持ちネットワーク経由でないウィキ読み機なのかわからん。まあ、例なので頑張って訳すのはやめました。
- What is the point of having chapters? の第2項
- 一体なんで academics, scientists, college students と schools, libraries が並列に並ぶんでしょう。
