What about Wikipedia News? --Maveric149 23:53 6 Jul 2003 (UTC)

The Mailing list Announce-l can mayby used for this. Giskart Walter 09:29 7 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Both Wikipedia News and Announce-l were meant for announcements. I see WWN carrying more than that. For example, we don't post announcements any time some matter of policy is being debated on Wikipedia-l, or every time some newspaper writes an article about us. We do keep track of those things, but unless you know where to look, and do so on a regular basis, it's easy to miss things. Take a look at this edition of the Debian Weekly News to see what I have in mind. -- Stephen Gilbert 00:31, 12 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I like the idea, but no one has pointed out that automatically releasing the news to the mailing list at a prespecified time would encourage a knowledgable vandal to blank the page right before it goes out. So, what if we had a sysop send out the WWN manually? This probably could be averted. That brings a new set of problems, though. Paullusmagnus 15:48 25 Jul 2003 (UTC)
