langs parameter deprecated

[edit]

It is recommended to call this template with {{h:f Help|langs=}}, or indirectly (from the Help namespace) with {{h:f|}}, i.e. the parameter value is the empty string, and to use another template, called from this template, for the interlanguage links, see Help:Help page footer templates. When this has been done in all English help pages, the langs parameter can be removed.

Box

[edit]

should this be in a box?

these don't belong in read... or do they?

Piped link | Redirect | Variable |

I'm pretty sure that variable doesn't fit... the link stuff.. is ... going to affect anything more than a casual reader... but regular readers will also want to do a bit of editing...

A page may show the time, and later, without any edits, it shows another time. This phenomena is based on the feature "variable". A piped link is the phenomena of a link with the label different from the target. But I agree, a reader who has such an interested analytic attitude is close to becoming an editor. An area in between is a reader looking at the wikitext to understand what mechanisms cause him to read what he does.--Patrick 22:08, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Shouldn't we make the template more powerfull?

[edit]

We should be able to make this template show all of the related category, and just the headers for the other major topics...

We should also be able to make it show all categories, unless extra parameters are given...

edi -> ed

[edit]

I have changed template:edi in tempplate ed. In this template all is written in English so ed is OK. Please be carefull. if you copy this template to another languege and traslate it you have to modify the link to edit itself accorling. AnyFile 17:44, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit]

I removed the links to these help pages on Commons and English Wikisource, as I earlier did for English Wikibooks, because they do not exist there – both wikis do not want broken, outdated copies of pages that you can already find at Meta.

Unfortunately my edit summary was Commons and English Wiktionary (sic) deleted the pages, so remove links to them. (I wrote Wiktionary when I meant Wikisource.) --Kernigh 04:08, 30 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

The links on first line to Special:Allpages/Help: don't work. --Vriullop 16:25, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I restored the good links.--Patrick (talk) 12:37, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

some loop error

[edit]

notice here, there's some "loop" error, damned template is so complex, I can't be bothered going through god knows how many pages it transcludes to find what the problem is... thought I'd bring it up so someone more familiar with the template can fix it. -- 6Sixx 06:23, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
