@I JethroBT: There seems to be a bug in the template, as the midpoint link points to the main page. Effeietsanders (talk) 04:52, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Effeietsanders: I haven't been able to resolve this issue after tinkering with the template on my own. Unfortunately, there was no edit to the template that caused this change, and I suspect something else has changed about how <inputbox> functions to produce the bug. I'm not sure who to ask for help on this, but I do need to set aside some time to work with someone more knowledgeable to fix this issue. In the meantime, however, I can create the pages manually. @I JethroBT: I could probably figure out the manual page creation - but not everyone may be able to. What about linking it to a template instead, for now? Effeietsanders (talk) 05:30, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@I JethroBT: it works again! fyi. Effeietsanders (talk) 17:49, 21 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Re: this template[edit]

Hi I JethroBT, just to let you know the template will not work correctly on [1], [2] and [3] as well as any grant page using the structure "Grants:Project/Name of Grant", which is the same structure on which the buttons were named "Template:Project/Proposals/Midpoint/Button". That's why I edited it to follow the same format as the buttons. Now it works correctly only if the project's name contains slash because the stripping happens a word after the project's name, and this's causing confusing and resulting in creating of many duplicate pages. –Ammarpad (talk) 20:27, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ammarpad: Yes, I'm aware of this bug, I appreciate your efforts to resolve it. Either way, unfortunately, navigation templates for some project grants will not function as expected. In general, we want to make sure that the page titles for Project Grants use a Grants:Project/(Applicant name/org)/(Project name) organization so it is clear who is doing the project and what the project is called. It would be nice to ensure there would be versatility in the template between pagetitles that have just the project name and ones that have both applicant name/org and project name, but I'm not technically competent enough with this markup to know how to implement this (I have tried!). For now, I'd like to move the pages to follow the Grants:Project/(Applicant name/org)/(Project name) convention. I'll spend a little time tonight and tomorrow moving these pages. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 20:47, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, understood. –Ammarpad (talk) 13:10, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
