Introductory statement / Application summary (maximum 500 words): Tell us who you are, why you are applying, and your relevant experience. | As a Wikimedian, I am convinced that knowledge is something that increases as it is disseminated. But AS a human being I know that the best actions are those that are based on clear, concise and plural factors and guidelines. U4C needs to have people with different mentality and/or approaches to the problem, yet the core of the participants should be similar to the Wikimedia movement. I will always seek the best way to engage the parties towards the common good especially in liberating the knowledge. Concerning the skills, I will have an opportunity to employ them in cooperation with other members of the team for the development of the Wikimedia Movement.
I am running for the U4C because I am seriously taking my stand for ethical standards and integrity in the movement. Due to my experience in work within NGOs, I have adequate expertise on how to create and apply code of conduct that adheres to ethic of openness, organization responsibility and accessibility. That is why I think UCoC is crucial to make sure Wikimedia movement can work with the necessary focus on the principles of diversity and non-discrimination. When I am elected, I would engage myself in the skills of forming consensus from different stakeholders, with the aim of encouraging healthy working relations. I am Co-Founder and/or Board member and/or former Executive Director of Wikimedia Venezuela. I've been organizing Wikimedia-like events (e. g. : including, such activities as workshops, edit-a-thons, contests. .) that was more than 10 years ago. In my case I transcribe articles from english to spanish. I have been active within the,Venezuelan and Iberocoop community since 2010 and have been attending global and local events since 2014, namely Iberoconf 2014 and the Wikimedia Conference from 2016 through 2018. I have engaged in the Iberocoop strategy meetings, Movement Strategy talk, Wikimedia Venezuela, Iberocoop (telegram chat), Wikimedia in Spanish (telegram chat), and on the topic of the Movement Strategy of Wikimedia. During my practice I have contributed to creating an inclusion and diversity policy of a non-profit organisation. In the policy, some specific measures were laid down and implemented to ensure that equal opportunities for women, cultural differences, and disabled persons were provided to work across the organisation. I engaged cross sectional employees to compile into the policy to ensure that it addresses everyone’s needs and circumstances in the organization. I also learned about the methods of monitoring and evaluating the impact on the organisation and actual changes that were made where the organisation operates. I found out the necessity of effective listening and collaborations with a team across different departments and professionals to design and implement policies that are sensitive to all and avoid discriminating others. It suddenly dawned on me that a workforce diversity is strategic for the success of the company in the future. I also discovered proper handling of interactive sessions involving various individuals as well as remaining enthusiastic for justice and equality in executing my decisions. |

Questions
[edit]- You ran earlier this year in the first U4C election, with a resulting 40% support ratio, which was insufficient to elect you. Why do you think the result will be different this time? Izno (talk) 19:42, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
