1. Let us begin with an introduction about your academic and professional pursuits and well as your areas of interests.

2. Where do you come from? Tell us about your native place / places where you spent your childhood and early years?

3. Tell us about your special interest in linguistics and endangered languages?

4. Tell us about your special association with Esperanto language and its associations?

5. How did you first discover Wikipedia?

I no longer remember!

6. When did you realize that you would like to edit Wikipedia?

Pretty much as soon as I discovered it! The first Esperanto edits happened in February 2004; the first English and Hindi edits in October that year.

7. What motivated you to Esperanto Wikipedia in a more focused manner rather than English Wikipedia, given the fact that your doctoral thesis is in English literature?

That was an easy decision. The English Wikipedia had many, many editors; the Esperanto Vikipedio, hardly any (from India).

8. What’s the most interesting thing you have used Wikipedia for?

Oh, the list is endless! A rat snake recently visited us. I discovered its mutliple names: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ptyas_mucosa !

9. Can you elaborate on your areas of interest on Wikipedia?

Language, obviously. But plenty of other stuff too -- from Astronomy to Zoology!

10. What’s the most interesting thing you have used Wikipedia for?

11. How do you see the scope of Wikipedia in constructed languages such as Esperanto and Lojban?

I don't know about Lojban, but the Esperanto Vikipedio is a priceless resource! It provides information on what matters to individual Esperantists. Taken with the other-language Wikipedias, the Esperanto Vikipedio is a deepening of the democracy of information.

12. Do your near and dear ones support your Wikipedia pursuits?

Yes, of course! All thinking people should!

13. Tell us about your association with other Wikipedians?.

14. How do you feel on your role as perhaps the only Indian Esperanto Wikipedian?

15. While Esperanto is your focus of contribution, which Indian language would you like to patronize in the future?

16. What is your message for future Wikipedians in general and Esperanto Wikipedians in particular?

(please give a bilingual reply to this question)
