Wiki Loves Oceans is an Open Access photography competition to create a worldwide collection of freely usable images and video that can be used by anyone including Wikipedia.

Oceans cover over two thirds of the Earth's surface but less than 5% has been explored. Oceans are the source of our freshwater and half the oxygen we breathe, they provide food, medicine, and mineral and energy resources. However the oceans face many challenges including pollution, overfishing, mining and climate change.
