About me
In 2021, I embarked on my Wikimedia journey after joining Open Foundation West Africa. With a strong passion for content creation and knowledge sharing, I developed a particular interest in Wikimedia Commons and Meta-Wiki, which remain my favorite projects.
As Communications Lead at Open Foundation West Africa from April 2021 to February 2025, Eugene spearheaded the promotion and visibility of key initiatives, including the Africa Wiki Challenge , Shine Her Light , Kiwix4Schools Project , AfroCreatives WikiProject, all designed to advance open and accessible learning. He played a central role in shaping campaign narratives, managing media engagement, and driving outreach strategies that amplified participation and impact across communities. In addition, Eugene supported the organization of capacity-building workshops, edit-a-thons, and Wikimedia outreach activities across Ghana and Africa, contributing significantly to the growth and visibility of Wikimedia projects such as Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata.
