About me

Kano TCHAPI de la République du Congo (Congo-Brazzaville).

In March 2022, I began my Wikimedia journey in the Republic of the Congo, inspired by Arno Boujika and Minette Leonstie of Wikimedians of Cameroon User Group , who introduced me to the Wikimooc. I further developed my skills through Wiki Wake Up Afrique with the guidance of Mermoze, Nicolas, René Bille, and the rest of the team. Alongside Cyrille Ngoulou, I co-founded the Wikimedians of Republic of Congo User Group, launching numerous initiatives in collaboration with Valentin from the DRC and local contributors. Since then, I have remained an active member of the community, participating in various international projects. In April 2024, our group received official recognition from the Wikimedia Foundation, and I was elected Vice-President.
In this capacity, I have coordinated major events such as Wiki Loves Africa 2024, Wiki Loves Earth 2024, and the International Month of Francophone Contribution, while also supporting Maryleine LOUEMBA with the AfroCreatives project in September 2024.
As a trainer and organizer, I take pride in mentoring passionate new contributors who have grown into campaign leaders themselves. Currently, I am assisting the Angolan Wikimedia community in their affiliation process, supported by Arno Boujika, Cyrille Ngoulou, and AfroCrowd.

Of Congolese nationality, I reside in Pointe-Noire, the economic capital. I wish to enrich the encyclopedia with more content about Africa and my country, the Republic of Congo, as well as on art, culture, music, cinema, politics, and scientific subjects.
