سلام و درود, I have worked in the development sector for close to 10 years; in for- and non-profit domains, and in low- and high-income settings. Specifically, I have been a community activist for 7 years and counting. A pivotal part of that was based out of Bangkok where I worked with highly marginalized populations across Asia and the Pacific. Particularly, youth volunteer movements in the response to HIV, social justice, gender and sexual diversity, equitable access, advocacy, and communication, with international communities, NGOs and multilateral organizations. Before joining the Movement Strategy Core Team, I was working with UNESCO in Afghanistan on education reform and curriculum design. That's when I first discovered the Wikipedia Education Program and the Wikimedia Foundation, working on 21st century skills development, digital literacy, and critical engagement with knowledge in a setting gripped with misinformation and disinformation.
A foodie, lover of culture and travel, and an avid learner, I am a Wikimedian at heart, and extremely excited to bring my perspective and experience in international coordination, communication, and partnerships, particularly with grassroots communities, to a movement that strives to reach for equity for free knowledge in the world. I endeavour to ensure effective communication and information flow amongst Movement Strategy working groups and many other stakeholders involved in our radically open strategy process. With my colleagues in the Information and Knowledge Management team, we support and facilitate meaningful discussions impacting the future of Wikimedia and our movement. It's been fast-paced process and I'm so excited for more.
