  • while, organizing and ally building is less satisfying than fighting, i would suggest that we want to shape the conflict on terrain of our choosing. battle ground, and ANI, and Arbcom is the terrain of the disruptors.

  • We want to create circles of civility, while we cannot depend on the WMF to maintain a "no asshole zone", we can build a civility zone among ourselves. we can build tactics to respond to incivility.
  • by creating circles that are civilly supporting, they can then change the larger community by building a new consensus; build the circle, expand the circle, maintain the circle
  • we can train Ambassadors that will mentor newbies, and respond on their behalf, when incivility occurs.
  • we can train allies to intervene on behalf of the hounded, negative feedback to bad behavior, and validate, and reinforce good behavior.
