A little ask[edit]

Dear Thogo,

Sorry, that I have to disturb you once again. Now the case seems serious, that's why I decided to disturb you once again (I hope, for the last time). So, in short, there is a conflict between me and a very rude and impolite administrator (I have the right to say this, see this request.) Wustje (Whom I know because of his wonderful anti vandalism job in wiki) offered me to have a look here, but he also mentioned that we should in consensus about that on ka:wiki first. It's impossible, as this user blocks everything on ka, and will easily block desysoping procedure on ka wiki). I beg you, if you have zeit, to reply me and if you will consider this case as important enough for stewards, please write anything also here.

Best regards, and a Happy new Year...--Gaeser 17:40, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't find something kawiki related on that page... O.o Maybe you have the wrong page? --თოგო (D) 17:42, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
No, sorry but all is correct- Georgian language and script have ka code...--Gaeser 17:45, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Thogo, fyi: see here. Regards, Wutsje 17:50, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

I meant the link to SRP#Removal of access. There is no kawiki request on that page. --თოგო (D) 18:43, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
I know that. :-)   I only wanted to point out that Gaeser asked me whether the ka:wiki problems should be discussed on Meta. That question landed on my plate and I've given my two cents about it. I was sort of hoping the stewards would also be willing to advise him on whether these problems indeed justify a SRP request. Wutsje 19:26, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
These problems do only justify an SRP if there is a community voting on it. I don't see a reason for an emergency action. --თოგო (D) 13:19, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

request[edit]

Dear Thogo, I'll be grateful if you solve my little problem. I've asked our bureacrat to rename my account BRUTE into Sanga. After that I wanted to create a SUL account, but there is a user ([1]) who has the same name. Can I ask you to usurp his account to me? That user has been inactive since 2008 ბრუტ 14:59, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi. vi.wp has active bureaucrats, I know that at least Mxn is active. So you have to ask the local bureaucrats since we are not allowed to do renamings if there are active bureaucrats - and it will probably not be possible for you to get this username there, because they have quite some edits. Usurpation is, on most wikis, only done with accounts that do not have edits (except vandalism or minor stuff). Best regards, --თოგო (D) 16:10, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank's, Best regards ბრუტ 16:40, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Np. I hope you get it solved. You can email the user directly and ask him if they agree to the usurpation. --თოგო (D) 12:20, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Voting templates[edit]

How about making your comment a global policy? I especially hate these templates on the Dutch Wikipedia and never use them, but sometimes someone just can't resist the need to have everyone use the same template. A block on sight would probably do no harm, now would it? --Erwin 11:53, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

I actually wasn't too serious with that blocking thing. ;) But I think that changing other people's votes/comments or anything is a no-go. --თოგო (D) 12:19, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

bnwikt[edit]

Hi Thomas, it's Tanvir again. I requested for adminship in bnwikt, but as there wasn't enough user to vote me so I just got a temp adminship of three monts and this gonna expired in February. So, I need to apply again. When should I apply, after expire or earlier? Can you tell me, how many votes are required (according to the policy) to get a permanent adminship? As there isn't enough active user so maybe I can ask to some users of bnwiki (where I'm also a regular contributor).

Another thing, our another admin account is inactive for almost two years (not a single edit since April 5, 2008), so I think (as an user and a representative of bnwikt community) his adminship can be revoked. What say you? Thank you! Tanvir 12:57, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

I believe that to remove adminship, one needs community consensus. Regards, Pmlineditor  12:54, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but, the community has too few user (maybe nobody) to comment on this. Tanvir 13:01, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
Let me give a stat about the active users. Currently there are 9 active users. Among them 2 are bot; 2 for make an user account there from meta; 1 from bnwiki to do 1 fixing edit. 2 irregular users with 4 and 6 edits of each; and rest 2 are me and another newbie. So who can give a comment on this issue? They don't even know the wiki markup clearly yet! Tanvir 13:10, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Is there any problem if I ask for votes in others wikis who are not regular in bnwikt? Tanvir 19:15, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Uhm... There is no fixed number for getting permanent adminship. I personally find that 3 active contributors are sufficient, but 5 votes from accounts that have just a handful of edits are not. You may apply before the term ends, because if the term ends, your sysop rights will be removed, and you would have a break. ;) Asking users from bnwiki is not a good idea, because as I said votes from users who aren't actively contributing to the wiki where you run for admin are not worth much. As for the inactive sysop, if there is a community voting to desysop them, we can do that, but we will not remove sysop rights of inactive sysops without a local policy approved by the community or a voting about desysoping. I hope that answers your questions. --თოგო (D) 23:36, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

I understand your answer. Now, please, suggest me what can I do.. Without me, there is only one active user (currently contributing) so how can I got 3 sufficient votes? And that's why i need to get a temp adminship for 3 months again? I'm afraid, I don't know what are you thinking, but isn't it too boring to apply after 3 months again and again. I'm not trying to be a sysop for a limited time to fix some technical issues, I'm trying to serve that project as long as I can and I proved that. I think maybe it's a special situation, so you can think about a special decision.. Regards, Tanvir 05:45, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
I understand your worries. The problem is, there were issues with sysops on small projects in the past which forced us not to give permanent sysopship if there is not a sufficient community. I think a longer temporary sysopship is fine too, like 6 months, and maybe 1 year the next time or so. For the first temporary term we usually give 3 months, but for further terms longer periods are not unusual. Btw., prolonging a temp sysopship isn't a big deal. Just drop a short note on SRP that you want to continue working. You should ask the other contributor if they agree that you continue. (Should be in English maybe.) --თოგო (D) 11:38, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your helpful guideline. One thing, you said, "You should ask the other contributor"—other contributor of where? in Meta or bn wiktionary? Regards, Tanvir 11:33, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Of bn.wiktionary. :) --თოგო (D) 13:01, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I've made the request here. Please tell me it's okay or not. Regards, Tanvir 18:04, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes that's fine. Btw., I hope you didn't translate system messages on the wiki. These translations are managed centrally on the translatewiki. --თოგო (D) 18:56, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
It's not like translation :), it's like creating or managing, like Mediawiki:edittools, Mediawiki:Sp-contributions-footer etc or this kind of message that was remain untouched. Sometime I work translatewiki as well. Thanks for your reminder. :) Tanvir 19:59, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah, nice. :) --თოგო (D) 08:55, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello bro! I've made the request at SRP. Hope you'll see. Regards, Tanvir 09:01, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Kylu saw it before me. :p --თოგო (D) 16:42, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks to both of you. Sorry for giving thanks so late :( Tanvir 16:19, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Kontensperre?[edit]

Sperrung. Grüße --NebMaatRe 15:32, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Ja, der spammt zu viel. --თოგო (D) 22:32, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
