Locally documenting bot[edit]

Hi if JarBot is going to be operating locally here at Meta, please document the tasks that it will be doing on its user page. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:46, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Hi @Billinghurst: I will do but currently the system does not allow me to modify another user's page :)

I will move the list later to the Bot page,

Yes check.svg Done You should be right to edit in the user ns.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:32, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Also, to run a bot here on meta, please fill out the bot request at Meta:Requests_for_adminship#Requests_for_bot_flags. — xaosflux Talk 15:21, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

@Xaosflux: Yes check.svg Done.--جار الله (talk) 22:19, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

JarBot[edit]

Your bot is archiving threads less than 24 hours old, as seen here. This seems rather quick. Would you be able to code the bot to wait until the threads are untouched for at least 48/72 hours after being marked done or resolved? Thanks. Nihlus 13:11, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

@Nihlus: Hi, perhaps because of the time difference, yes I'll archiving after 72 hours, Thanks.--جار الله (talk) 13:30, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
Actually stewards are fine with aggressive archiving. This has been agreed on stewards-l while ago. — regards, Revi 17:49, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
@-revi: Sorry, threads should not be archived 30 minutes after the last comment. Nihlus 06:35, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
@Nihlus: I will make it a day and a half, it will be at least more than 12 hour and maximum less than 48 hour, Thanks.--جار الله (talk) 19:59, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

Request to increase archiving rate for SRG[edit]

Good day. My colleagues and I have been discussing (mentioning @-revi for reference) if it'd be possible for your bot to increase the archiving rate for Steward requests/Global to archive each 6 hours requests marked as {{status|done}} or {{status|not done}}. Given that it is a high traffic page, it tends to be crowded with handled requests sometimes, and would make it easier to watch if handled requests could be archived soon. Is it possible for you to do that? Thank you for your help. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:50, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello @MarcoAurelio: done, the bot will archiving each 6 hours requests marked as {{status|done}} or {{status|not done}} in Steward requests/Global page. Best regards, --جار الله (talk) 21:15, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Hello again. Thanks for the fix. However I note that your bot is not editting since today's midnight in UTC time. Is it experiencing any issues? Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:26, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Hello again. @MarcoAurelio: I test it on my device and it work fine, I will see if there is issues on the server. Best regards, --جار الله (talk) 03:18, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

SRP not being archived[edit]

Hello, can you see why it is not archiving old stuff on SRP? Thanks! — regards, Revi 12:11, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

Also have a look at first request of SRM. Thank you! — regards, Revi 12:11, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
  • Hello @-revi: for SRP please add === Miscellaneous requests === to archive page, and SRM done. Thanks! regards, --جار الله (talk) 16:05, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
Is there are a larger framework to repair as this will continue month by month for any other major section. If necessary, we can just build the year ahead.  — billinghurst sDrewth 09:38, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
@Billinghurst: Creating all the months would be awesome. Thanks! regards, --جار الله (talk) 20:15, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
Yes check.svg Done I hope that in the next year we can find a way to progress without manual creations.  — billinghurst sDrewth 05:25, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

Bot stopped archiving[edit]

Hey, looks like after 15 February bot is inactive, could you please look at the issue. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 02:08, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

@1997kB: Hello, it's because of moving tools from trusty to stretch, now it active. Best regards, --جار الله (talk) 09:48, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

SRGP[edit]

SRGP now has a new section for 2FA testers, do you need to do something to properly archive it? (If then please do so)

Thanks! — regards, Revi 07:35, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Seems like bot is not archiving the stuff from 2FA sections, any possible cause for that? — regards, Revi 02:40, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
Hi @-revi: done, regards.--جار الله (talk) 16:12, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

SRG redundant/locally handled requests[edit]

Hello. It seems that SRG requests marked as "redundant"/"local"(locally handled) do not get archived. Can you please take a look? Thanks! --94rain Talk 04:54, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

Hello @94rain: would you please give me an example to work on it. Thanks.--جار الله (talk) 07:06, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
Hi, "redundant" requests had been there for more two days without being archived. I thought turning them into {{status|not done|redundant}} can work, but still they did not get archived, until they were turned into a simple "not done" and were finally archived in this diff. "local" can be archived, but only after nearly two days. Is it designed on purpose to archive them after such a long period? --94rain Talk 07:38, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
@94rain: Yes, they asked me to wait 48 hours before archive most requests.--جار الله (talk) 07:54, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
Oh. I see... I thought they were archived in the same time as "not done". Sorry for bothering and thank you for resolving my confusion. --94rain Talk 08:08, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
