Ty, Hasley. As there's no your activity for over 5 minutes hope you've done with adding translations from the log. Will try to translate now that red-colored topic there.195.138.78.6 20:18, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

@Hasley: Can you please tell me how translation work? As I press "Publish" and nothing happens. No any buttons to publish whole translation exists there too...

"State" field can't be changed by me too (I see options, but I can't choose any other except already chosen). How does it work?

Using abuse filter and sysop only? ^) Thank you in advance. 195.138.78.6 20:36, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I already added it, as you were blocked again (see Special:Diff/21049862). You can learn more about how use the Translate extension at mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Translation example. Sgd. —Hasley 20:47, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Hasley: Yep, I saw it, thank you. I'm about second topic (where actual links have to be - I wrote it at "translate window" pressed "publish..." (inside translate section subwindow" and... nothing happens (and you didn't add it). Ok. I will read the link. However I realized from your contribution how to force it (translation) manually without that "translate" window - Will try now to do that way. Ty again.195.138.78.6 20:51, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. Seems that now you can edit translations. Please let me know if you still have problems. Best, Sgd. —Hasley 21:02, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Hasley: ;) OK, here's a new question $) Now I |tryed to "create" new translation sections to translate sessions' roles also but while trying to create later a Translations:Wikimedia_Foundation_Board_of_Trustees/Call_for_feedback:_Community_Board_seats/Conversations/2021-02-02_-_First_Office_Hour/13/uk it tells me:
Unauthorized
You do not have permission to create this page, for the following reason:
This namespace is reserved for content page translations. The page you are trying to edit does not seem to correspond to any page marked for translation.
What am I doing wrong? (except not using translate window)? How to add translate sections to a page? (as session team role names are not obvious to be not translated)195.138.78.6 21:19, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The page needs to be marked for translation before it can be translated, but that can only be done by translation admins. Sgd. —Hasley 21:25, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean that red-marked page I trying to create have to marked by admins manually as being one of translation pages? That look some kind not optimistic. Because if no (and you mean initial page where I've done diff with "creating" more translating zones) - it's already marked as "being translated" doesn't it?
One more question (if you have nothing to add to previous one) and I'm done ;) There's a phrase there about "Sign your name below" and it looks good and meaningful (as everyone can press "edit" near corresponding session time and add her/his signature)... While looking on initial (english) page, but when I'm reading the same on my own language (or anyone other on any language except english one) there's a proposition about "leaving signature below" but... There's no any "edit" links available there (below, as it said) as it "translated page that cannot be edited"! That's exactly looks weird and discouraging. Because to really 'leave a signature' user have to press follow the "English" link, there have to find appropriate (guessing a section name if (s)he don't know the english language?) topic and press "edit" there. How (if) can it be resolved without need of "such long way" to leave a signature at last page topics on initial page starting from "another languaga" page? Maybe some straight link to initial page's sections (but that's hard to guess) have to be added while translating or (best way if possible) some sections of initial page can be marked as "common" for all languages to be available to edit from "other languaged" pages of initial one?
And one more (if you don't mind, as it, in fact, "half" of the previous question) - there's some content desynchronization between initial (english) page and other languaged (for example that one) pages exists. Especially about page content blocks that are not marked as being translated (exactly that one that "below" the "Sessions" topic on initial page) that being static on the state of when other languaged page were created. When event is being provided and information dynamically changed (especially at that "not translated" sections) that's crucial it to be updated on other languages' pages as if not - and most valuable information won't be updated - then what's the sence of whole translation? $)
Thank you in advance. Sorry for so much text (I wanted to be understood).195.138.78.6 21:52, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
1 and 3). Pages are “marked” for translation using Special:PageTranslation. You did not marked that page for translation, but prepared it. The last page translation log was made at 17:36, 2 February 2021, so your (and others) changes have not been displayed yet. See mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Page translation administration for an extensive guide on Translate extension markup.
2) Unfortunately, there is no way to edit that list through translated pages, so changes must be made in the parent page (English, in this case); this is a limitation of the extension. Sgd. —Hasley 22:28, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Hasley:1,3 - will. read (hope I can do it somehow without administrators, however looking on mark logid - I can't). 2 - I see (however sad).
Can you tell me please why any of my edits (through "translation extension" page) are being blocked initially? Doesn't that connected to that extension use wikimedia api (as I see while pressing a "Publish..." button of each section it clearly sends information to publish using wiki-api URL and not just POST-request as browser interface do). Because seeing an abuse-filter reason as [I'm] a "Possible spambot (en)" is not looks good because, in fact, that way I've been blocked for any translation using a "translation extension". Can you check what's the hack is going on there? How to fix it? As, I'm sure, you'll not "rescue" such my edits every moment... Please (maybe look at the rule - there can be something wrong set). Or we can try it together (however I don't know your natural timezone and how many time you have now). Thank you again.195.138.78.6 22:43, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for the delay. Someone else already tweaked the filter. Hope this works. Sgd. —Hasley 12:09, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Hasley: I see you synchronous to me ) (I already started to write you message here not far away from now but you were the first). Yeah, solved already. And I'm even checked (at least manual translation) - it (abuse filer) don't disturb me anymore.
Now studying how is it (translation module) works as questions 1&3 was solved too with way what you told about and corresponding changes (initial, other languaged) - now I can edit 13th (and later) translation section mentined above, however still can't get why
<div class="mw-translate-fuzzy">
at above "other languaged" appears as it already was translated before marking a page for translation. What "sign" (logic) used to set such tag that makes text's background "red"? As it (such logic) obviously have some error
Also here told there's told "translation units should be placed by the translate extension, not manually" and I'm wondering do I have rights to do it if as it looks like from here (timed 20210203101926) and here (timed 20210203101927), which looked synchronous and therefore made automatically by some (translation?) extension, and second one is approved to administrators only (from your words)? Because otherwise (if I have no such possibility because of lack of corresponding rights) such advice of administrator addressed to unregistered editor looks quite ironic. Btw - Good morning/day/evening/night (still don't know your timezone). What does "Sgd." means?195.138.78.6 12:41, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Outdated translations are highlighted with that red background (<div class="mw-translate-fuzzy"></div>). It can be removed by updating the translation (you already did it).
Anyone can add a HTML comment that looks like a translation unit. However, 'real' units are added automatically when press the “Mark this page for translation” button in PageTranslation interface, used by translation administrators.
For my time zone, see my userpage. “Sgd.” is the abbreviation for signed. Sgd. —Hasley 13:30, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Hasley:Yeah, I found it ;) Buen día! Now the next question. Can you tell me why there's no language "українська" at languages list appeared here Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees/Call for feedback: Community Board seats after I've made a first translation and in fact created a language page despite it appeared on Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees while doing the same (first translation, creation)? How to force it (language) to appear (at page languages list)?195.138.78.6 16:13, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I can see it. You may need to purge your cache. Sgd. —Hasley 16:42, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Hasley: Yeah, it works! I never thought there's a different cache for same page content can exists for different users. I thought a purge wiki-cache process is some way global thing but as it looks like that's personal-for-everyone thing. Thanks $) I knew so much that day because of you I couldn't get for months in 'some local community' (I wondering they are too greedy about wiki-knowledge's sharing).195.138.78.6 16:56, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You are very welcome. I am here to serve :). Sgd. —Hasley 20:04, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Again[edit]

@Hasley: ...It almost happens. Already while not using a "translation" extension but by raw edit. What is going on? If you still here, of course195.138.78.6 23:00, 2 February 2021 (UTC) (solved - mentioned above).195.138.78.6 12:41, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
