From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

@Zzuuzz:, would you please restore the rights of editing anon's own talk pages? I live in Turkey and access Wikipedia via VPN (because wikipedia has been banned by the gov since 2017). Today, I tried to contact an admin but I could not do this. I could not even edit my own talk page to request unblock and explain the situation. The ip wasn't blocked but was disabled from editing on any page on wikipedia, including its own talk page. I know there are so many vandals abusing proxies but could you please allow editors to use their own talk pages to request unblock at least? This dilutes the collatetal damage. 88.243.6.57

English Wikipedia issues should be resolved via w:en:Wikipedia:UTRS. There is nothing that Meta or stewards can do to assist you with their issues.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:00, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
user:billinghurst thank you but the page you linked is on english wikipedia and as I explained above, I can't edit there because: 1) wikipedia has been blocked in Turkey by the gov 2) editing via VPNs has been disabled 3) editing one's own talk page (via VPN) has also been disabled (thus, I cannot submit a request there). In fact, the last two are the reasons why I am here. 88.243.6.57 10:19, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I said to follow the process on that page, not edit the page. The process will direct you off enWP, into a parallel service.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:38, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. Thank you. Will try this. 88.243.6.57 11:56, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Which page would be appropriate to discuss this problem? Apparently, all the ips from VPNs has been disabled from editing, including their own talk pages. The problem is that, since talk page accession has also been disabled, no one can submit an unblock request. It seems like collateral damage affecting those from countries where accession to wikipedia has been blocked by their governments. 88.243.6.57 10:09, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
I pointed you to the process page, please follow that. We are unable to assist.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:12, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
