Edit request[edit]

Please delete this page per G1/G7 in accordanance with the Meta:Deletion policy: spam/advertising.--SkyGazer 512 (talk) 18:53, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An edit request is not the appropriate form of requesting deletion. Nihlus 21:20, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nihlus: Users without autopatrol status get caught in an abuse filter when they try to edit someone else's user page (including marking it for deletion, which is what I would've done in this specific case), and the disallow warning message, logged at MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-otheruserpage, specifically states "If the page in question is spam, or similarly problematic, please use the corresponding talk page and mark with either {{edit protected}} or {{delete}}, and your comment. Thank you." If I'm doing something wrong, don't hesitate to let me know and I'll do something different in the future, but I was trying to do exactly what the instructions told me to do.--SkyGazer 512 (talk) 23:17, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oof, that's pretty bad advice. It's best to just use Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat IMO. Nihlus 01:56, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
