Add topicPresenting Community Engagement Insights survey report: Tuesday, October 10, 1600 UTC
[edit]Hi Farisori,
I am reaching out to you because you signed up to receive updates about the Global Wikimedia survey.[1]
We will be hosting a public event online to present the data, a few examples on how teams will be using it for annual planning, and what are next steps for this project. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 10, at 9:00 am PST (1600 UTC), and the presentation will be in English. You can watch the livestream here, and ask question via IRC on #wikimedia-office.
If you are unable attend, you can also find the report on meta, and watch the recording of the event at a later time.
We hope to have you join us online! -- María Cruz 23:28, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
Meruleh's farewell letter
[edit]Hi, Farisori.
I noticed you sent a link to Meruleh's farewell letter on the U4C case that Galahad opened. As far as their userpages go, none of the U4C members claim to have a good understanding of the Spanish language. I can't reply directly to your message, as its on a section that clearly states its only for the case's mentioned involved parties and U4C (of which I'm neither), but I thought it'd be good if you provided a translation, for their sake and that of anyone that's keeping tabs on this who doesn't know Spanish, just so they don't rely on machine translation. Here's one I prepared. I tried to keep the wording as close to the original's as possible.

Hi, I'm Meruleh. Well, this is a farewell letter for my global userpage. Given what has occurred, I've decided to give up all my advanced permissions. First of all, I want to leave clear that this wasn't because of you all [plural you]. In fact, I already had planned doing it as part of a modernization plan... six months from now. But such a circus was made that they ended up expediting the process for me. So, well, thanks for that. Really, I'm very thankful. From today, May 21, 2025, at 13:00 (UTC-3), my account will stop being in operation. I won't have access anymore, nor do I have the intention of logging in again. I tried to ask for a global ban, but it wasn't possible. Anyway. This was a great adventure. I had fun, I laughed and I'll keep laughing until the end of days. Thank you for being part of my adventure. You've given me back more than 35 years of life. The community needs to be careful with who it trusts and who it decides to support. It's dangerous to give blind support to people that, being health professionals, end up attacking others. Just... be careful. Trust, but with judgement. I specially thank Geógrafo23, my mentor during these short years, who helped me convert my plans into a total success. Thank you, love. Y also thank Wikiviajes [Spanish Wikivoyage], a great project that opened the doors for me and let me grow. And well, as we'd say in my country: too much text This is my farewell, kids. We'll see each other at a next one. I reemerge as an earthworm... I even multiply! Bella ciao! |
You can copy and paste this, if you'd like.
I don't want to look like I don't care about this entire... mess (after all, I am involved, even if minorly, whether I like it or not), and would like to keep myself at least somewhat useful, but I really don't have anything useful or special to bring to the table, so chances are I'll stay in the sidelines for the most of it.
Thank you for your work. I hope this thing doesn't drag on for too much longer. I think I speak for everyone when I say this is draining and not at all enjoyable. — Rubýñ (Scold) 22:55, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks @Rubýñ: message included. Best regards, Farisori (talk) 00:36, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, I’m uninvolved, but you may want to see WM:RFCU and [1] – Phương Linh (T · C · CA · L · B) 00:46, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Hide on Rosé: Thank you very much for the work, really. I'm aware of this new false account, and the denial of the umpteenth name change. I hope all this general annoyance ends soon. Best regards, Farisori (talk) 00:59, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- FTR, I've removed Meruleh's local perms (which is just autopatroller) after the latest incident of sockpuppetry on Meta. //shb (t • c) 03:14, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: Thank you very much. Farisori (talk) 03:19, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- Not a problem :). I suppose there is also this but only stewards can remove such and it's granted out automatically so I guess there isn't much of a point. //shb (t • c) 03:22, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
